Mr. Banse is a manufacturing and operations management
professional with over 20 years of experience in a
variety of industries including telecommunications,
global positioning systems (GPS) and wireless location
systems, power mobility products, computer hardware,
and digital recording systems. His experience
includes domestic and international business development
with profit and loss responsibility, comprehensive
supply chain management, and electronics contract
manufacturing. Mr. Banse is proficient
at high-level negotiations; developing systems and
strategies for manufacturing operations, supply chain,
and quality improvement; managing multi-site operations;
and leading multi-function teams.
He serves as executive vice president and chief operating
officer of Steele Technologies Inc., a developer,
manufacturer, and service provider of innovative tri-media
digital recording systems His accomplishments
at Steele include developing and implementing comprehensive
systems for supply-chain management, configuration
management, human resources, and metrics measurement
and reporting. He orchestrated a product
redesign and achieved predetermined goals for cost,
size, weight, and power reductions while increasing
reliability, flexibility, and system features. In
addition, Mr. Banse established performance standards
and production layouts, developed and implemented
a quality system based on ISO-9002, and relocated
company operations to a facility suitable for expanded
manufacturing operations.
Prior to joining Steele Technologies, Mr. Banse was
president of Bandera Systems Inc., a management consulting
firm specializing in supply chain management, wireless
communications, and business development. From
1994 to 2001 he was employed by ATX Technologies Inc.,
a developer and manufacturer of in-vehicle Telematics
products and services. As vice president
of business development, Mr. Banse developed a nationwide
network of dealers with vehicle hardware installation
capabilities, established technology partnerships
with leading providers and developers of in-vehicle
electronics, forged alliances with top American, European,
and Japanese automotive manufacturers, and established
relationships with developers and providers of GPS
and wireless technologies and services. As
vice president of operations for ATX, Mr. Banse directed
manufacturing operations and engineering, multi-site
facilities management, quality assurance and ISO/QS
9000 implementation, national on-site installation
and training, technical support, and order administration. His
accomplishments included developing the company’s
operational structure and supply chain strategy, managing
for growth while streamlining operations, and playing
a key role in the successful $30M acquisition of a
major competitor.
Previously Mr. Banse was vice president of manufacturing
for Data Race Inc., where he directed manufacturing
operations and engineering, quality assurance, and
supply chain strategies. Earlier in his
career he served as a manufacturing manager for Tandy
Corporation.
Mr. Banse is a member of the Association for Manufacturing
Excellence and an associate member of the Society
of Automotive Engineers.
