Dr. Treese has over forty years of experience in manufacturing
engineering and management in high technology industries. He
has an extensive background in the production of commercial
and military electronic systems, medical instrumentation,
automotive components, microwave radios, microelectronic
devices, electro-optical imaging systems, and all-up-round
tactical missiles.
He is the owner and principal consultant of Treese
& Associates of Tucson, Arizona, which offers
professional services in industrial engineering, manufacturing
technology, and factory modernization. The
emphasis is on work measurement, process development,
facilities design, manufacturing systems, and the
product transition from design engineering into production. Treese
& Associates also provides consulting in strategic
planning, market research, and competitive analysis.
Since its founding in 1988, Treese & Associates’
diverse staff has successfully performed consulting
projects for over forty major clients covering a wide
range of technologies.
Prior to starting his own business, Dr. Treese was
employed for over thirty years at Hughes Aircraft’s
Tucson Manufacturing Division and at their Santa Barbara
Research Center, where he held positions of increasing
responsibility in manufacturing technology and production
management.
Dr. Treese is a licensed Professional Engineer in
the State of California and in Canada and is a senior
member of IIE, SME, IMAPS and ASTM. His
numerous publications and conference presentations
include “Planning for Computer Integrated Manufacturing
Towards a Computer Integrated Business”, University
of California at Santa Barbara, April 1988; “Managing
the Transition from Engineering to Manufacturing in
a Matrix Organization”, University of Southern
California, 1988/89; and “Planning and Managing
a Factory Modernization Project”, Project Management
Institute, May 1991.
